Anyone who makes DIY headphone cables from single conductors, ever use ANY other cable geometry other than 4 braid ?
And, do you know of anyone who sells silver plated TRS male plugs ?

does it make a difference?
I don't see any difference from braid or side by side.
Well of course there would be differences. Noise rejection and frequency response will be different. There is also more than side by side geometry too. Twisted pairs are also possible, as is twisted, twisted pairs ... It's just that I see everyone braiding, and am wondering why I never really see any other DIY geometries being made up.
Hmm pardon my ignorance.
But as such 4 cables aren't going to give you many options, maybe with some creativity
2 by 2 core twisted then twisting the 2 pairs of twisted cables into 1.
Using aluminum foil to bind them up and heat shrink or place them into a tubing.
Any links that I may read up regarding the noise rejection and frequency response to the geometries?
twisted pair per channel is going to be better at external feild rejection and to minimize cross talk - if you bundle/twist the R/L pairs then the twist rate should be different in the 2 channels
really superior would be star quad per channel - it looks like the new Audeze LDC-2 may carry 4 conductors per channel out to the drivers? - Kelvin sensing anyone?

Hmmm .... Different twist rates in the channels ? Isn't that going to create audible differences though ? It's going to change either L,C,or R, I would think.
in principle you could measure some difference in Z as a transmission line above 100 MHz
audio signals won't differ by the 0.1 dB DBT detection threshold with ~10 turns difference in twists over the 1-3m length of typical headphone cables
