Battery Packs for Vintage Discman and a hello

Hello all, new guy here.  I found this site by Googling Sony D-303.  I'm the proud owner of that and a Sony Minidisc player. 

 

Is there a source for the replacement batteries?  My battery is battery pack BP-2EX. 

 

Back story on this is that I used this and the minidisc player to record hours of music in the 90s.  I upgraded my home audio gear recently, and now I'm pulling out those old recordings again.  I'm having lots of fun reconnecting with my music.

I found some overpriced ones on google.  My inclination would be to concoct something temporary using AA cells, and transfer those MD's to other media.  You might be able to adapt a phone or PDA battery instead.
