Wow, I'm absolutely thrilled. This is only the second time I've ever won anything before, and the first time was a curling iron so I think I'll be much happier with this. Much thans to Akio and the Phiaton team. I'll definitely write up reviews for the dock (and secret prize) when I receive them. I actually guessed properly what the secret prize would be... not too hard to extrapolate when you look at their current products.

It's a new product they haven't released yet, so I probably can't say.

 

Say Mako, is that a boomtube speaker in your avatar? I have a set of those and they're a fun little toy.

Whoo... the MS600 arrived today. The UPS guy rather unceremoniously dumped it on the porch, rang the doorbell and took off. He didn't even check to see if anyone was home. Luckily I was home early, otherwise it would have just sat out in the open for a couple hours.

 

brief impressions (no burn in, but I'm not really a firm believer in burn in):

- the shiny surfaces are happily NOT a fingerprint magnet

- I like the AC adapter with swappable plugs; very slick

- impressive volume, more than I expected from the advertised 25W

- narrow soundstage

- but that's a very powerful and focused sound coming forward, almost too strong when turned all the way up (in some cases actually sounds a bit better when pointed at the wall and reflected back)

- excellent projection, although I've only tried in a room 15x35'

- decent lows considering the size

- upper mids are very strong and punchy, maybe too punchy

- kind of a flimsy feeling remote, but I haven't actually tested it yet
