Today I was using my unclass computer at work since my sound card on my other box was fried. My cable on my re0s were wrapped around my chair and got ripped out when I slid my chair away. It pulled the left housing apart. So I decided to pull the right apart when I got home i scraped off this filter that was over the holes on the transducers and filled them both up with some dynamat leaving the holes uncovered. I super glued them back together and man something about them sounds a lot better than I remember. They seem a little more punchy and the treble is clearer like removing the foam from the tips mod. I wish I had remembered to take photos before I glued them back together.

Wow, I didn't think it was possible to break them, as I have yanked them so many times.  Maybe time for recable??  I wonder how they sound recabled..

They seem pretty easy to pull apart. Put some plyers on one half and grabbed the nozzle and pulled down. I scratched them but used a sharpie to fix. I don't think a recable would be hard at all to do. If you want to do the dynamat thing just apply it on half of the transducer that does not have holes in it. I also put a ball of dynamat on the inside of the housing.
