Should I get a RSA F-117 Nighthawk?

Hi. I've decided on my turntable and now I'm looking at phono stages (I still need to decide on a cartridge but I'll do that next).

My price range is around the F-117. From what I've read the F-117 seems to get nothing but good reviews and I'm leaning quite heavily to get it.

But I'm not that versed in phono stages and was just wondering if there is any competition I should be looking at that is comparable or better in performance.

I'd be willing to maybe go 200 more than the F-117, but only if it's really worth it.

Thanks in advance.

The F-117 has had good reviews so far but is kind of expensive and runs on batteries which isn't for everyone. Phono preamps are not as important as the turntable and tonearm or even the cartridge. If you are spending over $2000 for your turntable and don't mind batteries which requires you to turn on and off the phono preamp each time, then go for it.

You would also have to unplug the charger before using it, plus the battery is proprietary.
