Selling my DIY normal bias Gamma as I decided to keep mx eXStata Pro bias only so it wouldn't get much use. Currently located in Hungary (not in the UK as in the original title).
It is made from a very good condition Alpha Pro Excellent shell so it uses the better Alpha Pro Excellent pads as well and it does not have damping in the housing. The headband is also in fine shape.
The flat cable and the normal bias drivers are from a very late minty SR-5NB Gold so they are in perfect condition (no nasty holes which plague many vintage round-driver Stax phones) and there is no imbalance either.
The result is a very nice phone that has a bit less extension but sounds more musical than the Gamma/Alpha Pro with a richer midrange. My friend told me that it sounds even more balanced that the already very good SR-Lambda (weightier/less thin sounding) which is a bit better in terms of extension and openness and this phone also sounds better than the original normal bias Gamma that he had before.
