Review: Fischer Audio FA-003 - a neutral champ! - Page 188

My Ti's arrived and they sound very good. They have a nice warm and non-fatiguing sound. While there is just enough volume coming straight out of my Tera, I do find they improve with amping. They seem to match up well with the Tralucent T-1 amp. And this is straight out of the box. We will see how the sound matures.

I also enjoyed them hooked up to my iCAN amp, although the HD650s are still the best headphones I have tried with that amp. http://www.head-fi.org/t/654405/ican-amp-review-a-new-amp-that-gives-you-more-more-bass-more-soundstage-and-more-detail

Wow, these really seem to be getting some great comments, and they're a relatively unknown brand. These remind me of what I just bought, in that they are also a lesser known company. I just got the Soundmagic HP100 and am very pleased. Mine are definately on the less warm/more clinical side of sound sig but not too far-they aren't harsh at all, don't throw details in your face and actually have very good bass that stays well away from the mids. The latter likely what gives the Soundmagic's the less than warm sound. Too bad there aren't quality clones of these for $50! Jeez, at that price, well, that is an incredible deal for a headphone thats compared to Senn 600. I don't suppose anyone has compared the Fischers to the Soundmagics, have they? I think this would be a very interesting subject. A battle between Soundmagic's HP100 vs. Fischer's FA003 Ti-the rise of the little guys. If I wasn't so poor I'd try out these Ti drivers. It sounds like a interesting concept that has been tried but hasn't been done well enough. Looking forward to reading more reviews on this Ti model.

My Jaycar arrived today and I am so mighty impressed by them. I do not have much experience with headphones yet, but this is the best I ever heard. The quality of the sound is just astonishing. I don't thing that anything can come close to them for 80$. The clamp is a bit tight as already mentioned, but i hope they'll lose a bit with time.

The sound is amazing, best purchase ever. basshead.gif

They will loosen up a bit. You can try stretching them over some books or something similar to speed the process. Really nice headphones. Enjoy them!

This has probably been covered (188 pages here!!), but are the FA-003 and the Brainwavz HM5 similar in sonic characteristics i.e. neutrality?

FYI, The short cable is again available at MP4Nation (5/28/2013).  It's been out of stock for several weeks.  Nice to have this option for all us Digitech owners.

^^ Auction? Interesting idea.

Just picked up my FA-003. Enjoying the neutral sound so far - a win with binaural recordings as well.

I'll be picking up my Zebrano/Zebrawood cups next week - will post results back here, RE: sonic changes.

Looking forward to your Zebrawood update. Mind asking how much you purchased that and from where? Thanks

The Zebrawood 8-step cups are $200 from Noisy Motel (Melbourne, Australia), last time I checked.
