Which portable DAP has SQ comparable to the one produced by a digitally feeded iBasso D10 Cobra?

Hi,

I'm not impressed with the SQ of the Sony Walkman NWZ-S639F that I recently got. Even the included earphones make it very easy to discern the difference in SQ big time. The USB transfer speed is also on the slow side.

I want to get rid of it and get something that matches more the sound that my digitally feeded iBasso D10 Cobra produces.

Have any of you compared the digitally feeded D10 SQ with portable DAP SQ, and can tell which portable DAP players have the same SQ, particularly when it comes to sound clarity, power of the sound (bass impact, sound cleanliness, definition, etc.), and especially SOUNDSTAGE and stereo field quality?

I also realize that a portable DAP with digital out so I can use it with the D10 should be the best solution, but these players are rare and would probably cost me a few extra bucks. I'm also worried if the sound would be the same as out of my Laptop optical out. However if this ought to be the only solution that matches my criteria fully then I'd happily shell out the extra cash for it.

For sound playback I use foobar2000 with 24bit output WASAPI SPDIF, so it's the finest. The opamp configuration I use is a single AD8656 with no buffers if I remember it correctly.

Additionally the DAP should be able to retain scrobbling info.

Thanks for reading.

Imod is on same level as Ibasso D10. But you will need to have it pluged into your ibasso while traveling.

maybe Sflo2, it has dual 874x dacs, the same as used in the D10, but the sflo2 amp section is not on the same level as D10 stock, let alone modified, the opamps used are pretty average IMO, the 2604 i a very cheap entry level chip. IMO the sflo2 is a prime candidate for a mod. replace the opamps with something decent but not too power hungry like OPA1642 or even if possible, OPA1632 and gain a balanced output.

considering the dacs are already outputting balanced audio and just combined down to SE by the opamp I/V stage it should be possible, considering the OPA1632. so do this perhaps, at the least with normal dual channel opamps and replace the caps ala IMOD. i'm surprised noone has done it yet TBH. ive been thinking of putting my name on the preorder list for a while now to this end, but I have other projects taking my time and money; plus the software issues and battery life scare me a bit. so perhaps the OPA1632 wont work, due to lack of power reserves, the unit is already stepping up the DC voltage considerably to run it as it is.
