Possible First Recable Project

I have been looking through the DIY Cable Gallery for a few days now and it has inspired me to give it a try. 

I have a pair of AKG K27i headphones which don't get used that much. 

I have some canare star quad cable as well as some SPC bought from Ebay. 

Would recableing the K27i be a good first project? 

Which type of cable should I use the star quad or the SPC? 

Any help or advice you guys can offer would be much appreciated.

I would definatley go with starquad either the canare or even better Mogami 2534, SPC can sound 'bright' from past experience, so I would avoid that.

dean0 thanks for the suggestion what about Cardas 4x24 or would that be a waste?
