I don't think its the ad as much as the space lost. Granted at home I view the webiste at 1920x1080 so it doesn't bother me but when I'm at the office and the resolution is much lower, it is a bit bothersome. However, I think after a little while, you'll just get used to it. At first when the old head-fi first got ads, it bugged me too, but after a while, I didn't really notice them anymore. Same with all the changes, its just different and human nature to resist change but we'll all adapt eventually.
