PSU filter - little device good for computer audio - Page 3

as with all electronic equipment, there are cases of bad ones. Sounds like you have one. I'd RMA / return it due to it being faulty. Also are you sure it's the PSU and not your headphones driving too much current into your input? (i.e. your headphone having too little resistance).

Anyone have any idea where one of these filters could be purchased? Google hasn't turned up any results :(

it's almost definitely home made :) (see the fraying on the 4pin molex lead, has been cannibalised from a PSU).

nice job if so, looks...interesting :)

I guess i should have pointed out that I am driving external amplifiers (tripath 2024's) from Ebay which run on 12v DC. The computer is very efficient (i5) 100w and the audio boards are 4 x 12w @ 7 ohms and 85% efficiency = approx. 60w  not sure how much of the 100w is 12v rail, but this is not a lot of work for a Corsair PSU  All in all, at normal listening levels, probably well under 100w on the 12v rail, So I thought I would try running the amps off the same PSU. There is an intermittent scratching sound sometimes it goes away.
