Subscriptions do NOT work with Opera 9.64.

 

so, basically none of my web browsers work with the new subscriptions.

 

This makes me much less likely to visit head-fi, because I can't see activity with posts that I am subscribed to.

Ok, I found out how to send a PM, and I guess you have to know the person's account name.

 

But, I discovered another problem

I am not able to type in a message in a new PM.

This is a serious bug.

"no script" isn't working either.  I can't post unless I grant permission to every single crap java script on this site.  I don't like the new site at all.

  I agree, I have no desire to be flooded by a list of junk grade products that the lowest common denominator feels is the greatest products in the world.

Unblock Java in the settings then. I've got NoScript as well and have no problems at all.

My biggest complaint as well.

Each page I navigate through head-fi feels like a 5MB PDF document that I'm downloading and frequently freezes up.

 

I can't post images either "A temporary error occurred. Please retry your request."

There were a few problems with the head-gear section too.  Much too frequently, I get isolated problems on the forum section... 

Familiar BBCode no longer works...

Really??, I have to ctrl-right-click to utilize my browser's built-in features?  What percentage of the head-fi members are going know that?

 

The entire forum now feels uncomfortable.. suffocating, constricting.. makes the user feel smothered, censored, agitated

Great thread Towert7.  When reasonable people are finding the gaps in usability intolerable, they probably are.

I'm a very reasonable person, and I find the retardations tolerable. And I do not care for BBCode that much anyway. Jude and the other admins will come up with fixes eventually or revert or something, I believe.

My biggest complaint regarding the new layout is the amount of whining that's going on. From the tone of some of the users, its almost as if they feel they are entitled to have Head-Fi catered to their own specifications. There's bound to be some growing pains and I'm sure things will be fixed and some things will be improved upon. Give it a while.

I am trying.

 

Is it whining if it takes two to three *minutes* for a page to load on the device you use 95% of the time?  To read through a single thread and post can take up to ten minutes.

 

Does that sound reasonable to you?

 

It feels like a complete slog to me, when I used to be able to do the same thing in one or two minutes.  If the speed and clunkiness doesn't improve, I'll probably only check in here a few times a month, instead of every day like I used to and would like to.
