What DACs are in Sony mp3 players

Sony mp3 players sound incredible when amped.  I am listening to my new X series player amped outputted to my HD650, and sound is amazing.  I am listening to Rodrigo y Gabriella in Tokyo, sound is very crisp.  Why doesn't Sony produce a DAC? If they were to make their own DACs, I would be the first in line to purchase one.  Do sony receivers have same quality DAC as their portable players?  Is it the harware that is producing the quality sound or does Sony have some secret software algorism for their DAP?  Does sony make their own DAC?

I have a Sony STR-V555ES ES series receiver, and I use it JUST for it's DAC, I have an optical line from my sound card to the V555ES and then the preamp from the V555ES to my Big Rig. And yes, it is quite awesome.
