Most of you are familiar with awesome designer Peter Millet. This amp is based on his Starving Student Hybrid design, with improvements Whiplash chose to bring out the very best of Pete's design. It's hybrid nature means you get the great tube sound but can also run almost any headphone successfully. (It has a LO / HI gain switch as well as 1/8" audio in and L/R RCA audio out).
I have been running a Lawton modified D2000 and it's UNREAL how great it sounds. It has a liquid glass, honey-like sound that is expansive, detailed, and just utterly gorgeous. I can't believe how much better it sounds than my NuForce Icon Mobile and Total Airhead. It's like different planets of sound.
The ONLY reason I am selling this amp, which has the most beautiful sound from an amp I've ever heard especially at this price, is that for some inexplicable reason it sets off my asthma whenever I run it. Go figure. I've never had the experience and cannot tell you why it does that, but it does. Otherwise I'm very happy with it and would keep it.

I bought this amp in trade with a fellow Head-Fier and I love it. This amp comes with 4 tubes in excellent condition and AC power supply. It will professionally packed and shipped insured with tracking anywhere in the USA.
When I received it, I immediately brought the amp to a local tube amp specialist / builder here in Oceanside, Jason Moore of Moore Audio, who builds amps for working bands. The amp was fully refurbished: all soldering connections repaired where necessary, connections and tube sockets cleaned, and the amp itself is fairly clean and together with only little signs of use. All four tubes were also tested and are perfect.

The Whiplash Audio Mini Millet is actually "outsourced" to arguably the best DIYer on Head-Fi, "rds". I have talked to rds via private messaging, and I can tell you that he is as skilled or even more skilled than most of the commercial amp builders out there. Whiplash Audio is one of the premier sponsors of Head-Fi.org, and I can assure you that they will quality-check every single amp they sell.
You have the ability to throw in a lot of tubes (6DJ8, 6922, 7308), available in all price ranges up to reallt high priced NOS tubes.
My tubes are 2 Hydron 19J6 and 2 RCA 19J6.
