Ultrasone Edition 8 "Limited Edition" - Page 4

post #46 of 450

@Codescripted - OK cool, thanks.

I'm still waffling about whether I will get these and sell my current pair - depends on the actual US price of the Limited Edition...

With all the '8' vibes I'm only 50/50 this will get a US release....

A more reddish brown than in the last pics. Might be lightning / white balance.

Wonder why they didn´t do anything with the cable appearance?

In fact they did with this one, a leather box! I'll find a pic.

Silly,

I've had all as well as the ed 9's.  These are the ones I prefer.  I listen to Heavy metal and Rap so YMMV

Therefore bought the Palladium edition (So much better looking IMO. Very elegant and not too shiny). Palladium is still a fingerprint magnet, but much less than compared to the rutenium edition. The limited edition looks very similar to the ruthenium edition (based on pictures), but looks to brownish. I agree with subtle that its just retarded for a firm to sell same headphone in 3 styles with 3 extreme prices. A point to be noted is I got Rutenium edition after it was in market for about 5 months and my SN was 161, and then got palladium 2 days after it releases and that was 187. I really don't know if they are even able to sell over 500 units of each (ruthenium or palladium) and now comes up with Limited edition.

PS: My Palladium was a defective unit, and stop working after 2 days. Ultrasone in California has made me wait for 2 months for the parts to come in from germany so they can fix it. They will receive the parrts this week and then I can get it fixed. Kinda of ridiculous in my opinion for a $1700 headphone to be defective.  Starting to lose patience on Ultrasone........ Just my opinion and throwing it out there.

That sucks.   Did you contact ultrasonepual he posts in their forum and is very helpful

Not actually that impressed by the box ... it's a nice touch but from the pics not quite as mouth watering as I'd expect, maybe nicer leather and less orthodox of a design (maybe rounded edges) or something like the R10 suitcase XD ... Hey, the Ed8 limited is already half a fashion or collectible headphone, I don't see why I can't criticize the box for not being everything I want

Hey Skylab, did you ever do a review yet on yours?  I have had mine now for a couple weeks and there's nothing WRONG with them, but after going back to my Senn 25-1's, I'm finding that I really prefer their bassier signature. I'm just thinking of all the other stuff I could do with the $1700 (Palladiums) bucks, so I need major encouragement to keep them! A part of me still wants to keep them - HELP before I return them!

I like the Palladium the most. In my opinion, that tiny piece of wood is just pathetic. Bit like wood accents in some car´s interiors...

Surely you're not suggesting you find the 25-1's bassier than the Ed 8???
