Hi, and sorry for the delay. I feel like I'm still getting acquainted with the Super II and am not ready to unleash a full-scale review on the world. I will say that the Super II is sonically very close to the Ear+ HD it follows -- a shade less tube "hum" and blacker background than the Ear+ HD, with perhaps a bit more power to push finicky cans (I'm looking at you, HD650 and DT880/600), and that's about it. I do love the fact that it uses a pair each of EL84 and 12AX7 tubes, rather than a single 12AX7 and a pair of the somewhat esoteric 12BH4 drivers as used in the Ear+ HD.
Comparing the Super II and C2... well, apples and oranges, of course. They both push difficult cans with equal facility -- comfortable listening level on my DT880/600s is at about the same spot on the potentiometer. The C2 can be downright cold with ACSS connection, and quite neutral with RCA and stock opamps. The Super II, on the other hand, has just the right amount of gooey tube warmth for most reference cans, and is just exactly perfect (as Bob Weir would say) with Grados, but still too rich for regular use with my LA2000 Lites.
In retrospect, having both the C2 and Super II (or Ear+ HD, really) on your desk is a truly all-star combination that can bring out the best in all but the most demanding of headphones. I'm enjoying the hell out of both of them right now.
