RE-1s In the Mail (Yay)

Like the title said, I just got my RE-1s in the mail today. Sadly though, I have no real good amp to push them yet. I'm hoping to order a Headstage Arrow within the next week. But it will still take at least a month to get here, and that makes me sad. These are my first IEMs, so I don't really have anything to compare to as far as it goes.

 

From what I've heard the RE-1s improve A TON with a good amp, is the Arrow a good pairing?

Due to the high impedance they will do better with higher voltage output. The Arrow should pair well, as it can go to 12v.

 

How do they sound? In the end, that's what counts. Don't worry about comparisons, just tell us what you think. IMO the RE1 is underrated compared to its higher profile brother the RE0.

Well, they sound pretty good with the Bass Boost from the E5. It just needed a little bump. I got the RE-1s because I planned on getting a nice amp, and I heard they worked better with Bass. Overall through my E5 they sound pretty good, especially for my first IEMs.

@ OP - Try the Arrow. From what I read they have a slightly aggressive sound which will go perfectly with the Re1s slightly laid back sound.

 

I use the Ibasso P3+ and I am very happy with the sound. Earlier I used a E3+, a Corda Porta III and the P3+ is a pretty good improvement to the sound.

Lucky you. I was supposed to received my IE7 order yesterday but UPS driver couldn't find my house. They thought they have the wrong address which is not. I didn't know that until I had found out new strange message showing up late last night and decided to give a call this morning. If they can't redeliver today, I wouldn't be getting it until Monday. :(

Ouch. That's no fun. I've had a few shipping mistakes like that too. They all ended well though, best of luck to you.

Well, I guess not so lucky me. My left one went out on me already. Not a fun experience for my first IEMs.

By the time I called them, cars have already left. They couldn't redeliver my order until Monday. It's been over a week since I've lost my IEM. I feel like something is missing and all those cheap ass ear buds I have bought don't cut anymore and I'm on the verge of losing my mind. Damn, can't believe those expensive IEM could do to your ears. I wished I had never come to this forum to begin with. I'd have been still ignorant and my wallet would have been thanking me a lot. Ignorant is truly a bliss.....sometimes:(

Damn that sucks. Do you need to pay for shipping cost for both ways or the retailer would cover to some extent if not full.

After my experience with the RE-1s I may just give up on IEMs and forget about my Arrow purchase too. My HD-25-1s drive quite well on little to no amping. I think I may just enjoy my alright sound quality, maybe pick up an E7 and stop there.

well, i tried the RE1s w/ the E5 & compared to the Lyrix which is inferior to the Arrow, w/ the Lyrix the overall sound is much better, cleaner & the bass come out more...

 

But obviously you'll get better sound w/ your full-size headphones which is rated pretty highly around here....
