Stylish closed cans for music and gaming

I will be using these cans for on campus use (hence the need for being stylish). I will also be using them for gaming and music (hip hop, so needs bass). Don't have a set budget but would like to spend less than 100.

I'm deciding between the AKG k81/518 djs and Audio Technica ES7s right now. However, I am open to other suggestions as I have heard that both these cans are very uncomfortable.

You can try PANASONIC RP-HTX7 with mods posted on head fi. definetely stylish.

I never found K518 uncomfortable btw - check the K518LE - they got nice colors

I just heard that the K81s were uncomfortable, I guess AKG fixed the head clamp issue with the K518s.

I reccomend the ATH M50s, which are my new portable phone. They are my favorite looking headphone by far and sound pretty good. A little uncomfortable at first, but after stretching out the headband they become more tolerable. I wore them practically the whole day yesterday. You can get them for $87 shipped off ebay.

Also, you can take a look at Beyerdynamic DT 770s, not really a portable phone but they are lightweight and won't fall of your head easily (I wear them sometimes when playing guitar at my cousin's house) and they don't fall off when I'm thrasing about. I forget about the different versions they have, but some of them will run fine off a portable device. I was about to buy one myself at Guitar Center for $130 after a bit of haggling. I kind of regret not getting them, because they're the most comfortable phones I've ever put on. I've never tried them for gaming but I'd imagine it would be very fun.

ATH M50 or Shure SRH440.

You want style, ES7. Overall practicality, SRH440.

The M50s look nice, but are they as bulky as they look? I saw a video of BoA wearing them and they engulfed half of her head. And the DT770s are not stylish at all imo. Same goes for the Shures.

I find SRH440 looks better than M50

M50 is not big. It's quite an opposite compared to other full size cans.

Nope, they did not. Some people just naturally find the K81/K518 more comfortable than others.

The M50 is pretty big, about the limit of what I would wear outside. Certainly a lot bigger than the supraaural K81/ES7. If you want something that's just a bit smaller than the M50 and sounds about as good, I'd look at the Denon DN-HP700. The lower-end HP500 looks similar but I don't know how it sounds.

Thanks for pointing out those Denons, I've never seen those before and they look great. Good reviews on the bass heavy sound too.
