The Dual DK 720 is a very nice sounding (IMHO) orthodynamic headphone. It uses a large 55 mm orthodynamic driver that was probably made by Peerless MB.
The Dual DK 720 is a convertible half-open-back / vented closed headphone. Currently, it's half-open-back. But the plastic discs that can make it vented-closed are included, if you feel like closing it up. Personally, I found no need to do that since it would result in even more bass. The cable has an inline volume control box.
I have tuned it (to my own preferences), which has taken a very long time. I have also made new pads. They are not sewn together, but are quite comfortable (you can see how they ended up in the pictures below).
With the pads taken off, keeping just the leather circle, I find them ideal for rock, like the White stripes, with impactful bass (but not extremely deep), and great sounding guitars. With the pads on, they get a darker sound, that I like a lot with electronic music. The Dual is one of the best sounding vintage orthodynamic headphones I have heard. I find it better sounding than for instance the more common Yamaha HP50S.

It's half-open, as shown in this picture:
Below the top pads, there is a thin leather circle. That gives a zappier sound, and a bit less bass.
