Dr dre. beats make you ears happy when you listen to Hip hop/R&B/Top40 kind of music. They are designed for that. If your taste covers a broader spectrum of music and want to get more natural and balanced sound then it's another story. Maybe something like DT770 pro (Great noise canceling, in fact many drummers use them in recording sessions)
Just a minor nitpick, the DT770 Pro doesn't have noise cancelling, it just has good passive noise isolation.

That, and the DT770 actually is good for Hip Hop/R&B/Top40 kind of music and isn't exactly a natural and balanced sound. In fact, its sound signature is quite similar to that of the Beats.

One other major con for noise cancelling, I know this affects the Beats, is that a lot of noise cancelling cans only work when the batteries are on. That is, the headphones won't work at all once your batteries die out.

That really bugged me about the Beats, too. (And the QC3 for that matter). Why can't these headphone designers do like Sennheiser and let it work without batteries in passive mode? I mean if the sound degrades a bit due to lack of amplification then let us use our portable amps to cover the slack.

It is not for LARGE ears. My friend couldn't fit his for e.
And it is hot after a while.
A little tight also. But you can't evade it if you want good isolation.
Other than that it is ok.

If you can get past the 'noise-cancelling' illusion, save a few more bucks and look into a pair of ATH-ESW10JPN, you'll be QUITE pleased with the SQ and have a gorgeous set of cans if looks is important.

I might be mistaken but aren't the ath-esw10jpn headphones crazy expensive?
