Sold is a KWH HOK-80 version 2, from east germany. As you can see on the pictures, it has an orthodynamic driver. A rare chance to hear what they achieved in eastern europe.
This headphone is a convertible half-open / vented closed design. Currently, it is vented closed. It can be coverted to half-open by removing a piece of plastic inside (it is not stuck, you can easily take it out after opening it, but that can be a bit tricky to do.).
It currently has fine mids and highs, a bit rolled off. Bass could be a bit more controlled, but that can be changed with some felt. It is currently modified with ear pads from a different vintage headphone. The baffle is locked with four clips. On one side, one clip is broken. (this is not visible on the pictures). I have added some strips of surgical tape on the back of the driver to emphasize the highs. I have also sealed the drivers to the cups using blu-tak and placed them a bit at an angle. I thought this sounded better, but it is easy to change after opening it up.
