Thanks

Why not a pair of IEM's - you'll get isolation AND sound quality.

Some people dont listen to music..... they just turn the noise cancelation on and rest. Its actually quite pleasant that way and much prefered for me to iems were I not interested in listening to music. Somehow whatever the isolation situation is with iems as opposed to noise cancelation, I feel much more relaxed with active noise cancelation in the absence of music.

But Majinwu, if you're planning on listening to music, I highly reccomend iems also. For optimal isolation go with some comply tips or shure olives additionally to whatever phone you'll be procuring. Medium is a good bet but you can always get the 3 size set (s, m, l). It is much more isolating and better quality. I dont think theres a can on the market with active noise cancelation that can compare to e-q7's or W3's/Um3x's. Noise cancelation just ****s up SQ. It seams unavoidable.

Looks like the OP sold his Shure E3C. Avoid the IEM with active noise canceling from Sony and Audio Technica, I've owned both and was displeased. For a balance of good sound and active noise cancellation, try the Denon AH-NC72. They are great for less than a Benjamin. Also, the Bose QC15 is quite nice as well, but no surprise very pricey. I owned both and was quite pleased during my heavy travel days.

does anyone know good full sized headphones which have noise cancellation? not bose or beats tho :p

The following are both full-size with active noise-cancelling. Both work without battery in passive mode.

Audio-technica ANC7. This is their old model that I tried once. Good sound. Now on sale at a cheaper price since the new model was introduced.

Or Goldring NS1000 if you can get it cheap. Need prolonged burn-in to improve the sound. Once that is done, you should be happy.

I've got some Ultimate Ears IEMS (triple fi 10) for sale. We can get a deal going ;)

I can sell you a Creative Aurvana X-FI NC for $80 shipped with a makeshift cable. One of the sides hinges are sort of broken. The cancel noise pretty well. My dad considered these as a lifesaver on a 6 hour flight.

Have you looked into the Sennheisers PXC450 or PXC310, both would be way better than Bose or Monster, but they are pricey as well.

I'd be willing to sell them to ya for $75+ shipping then. My zip is 07066 if interested. The damage isn't so bad.
