Carbon Leaf should satisfy you somewhat. Not at all from Ireland (Virginia), but really good Irish style rock.

How to forget The Cranberries and their single...zombie? They rock!

The Frames are Irish, but I can't say how they compare the bands you mentioned.

Rory Gallagher?

Stiff Little Fingers are Irish and have a similar punk style to Flogging Molly and the Dropkick Murphys, though with less traditional Irish influence. I'd recommend starting with a live album.

The Pogues is a great suggestion and probably what you are looking for.

Not an easy find, but I think you'd probably like Blood or Whiskey.

Im not sure if this is completly correct but there is a pretty good metal band by the name of Slough Feg which sounds pretty irish to me.

Definitely the Pogues.

Rory Gallagher was perhaps the best guitarist of his era (and he came to attention at the same time as Clapton) and is well worth checking out. Suggest the "Irish Tour" album.
