Lol ! Sorry about that one. I had just got confirmation that my Yamaha Orthos had arrived at my home and so I ran away from office in a jiffy and did not double check my post before I clicked the send button.

I meant a few people do not drive their HD650 properly and form their impressions.

I was in the above group as I used to drive the HD650 directly from my Hotaudio Mark IV dac and more recently directly from the uDAC. Since the volume was more than sufficient I was under the impression that it was driven properly and I was under the impression that adding a much more expensive amp and dac would add only some more subtle details with (maybe) better soundstage/imaging.

But on upgrading to a budget system (udac + Compass + Taurus amp) and its a completely different headphone altogether at this point !

Something I forgot to ask, are my AKG K701s early built pairs?

 

The serial Number of my AKGs are, 32157.
