As I said, there are advantages/disadvantages to both camps. One thing to remember is the sheer volume of xbox live subscribers vs PSN users. xbox LIVE is Massive, and you are more likely to find ppl you know or meet new ppl to play with on xbox live compared to PSN. Netflix is native on xbox, (which might well change in the near future) but as of now, its much easier to not have to swap a disc everytime u want to watch a movie online. Its also a better media client in my experience.
The PS3 has bluray, looks cooler, runs quieter, has a slick looking interface and has free PSN and some decent exclusives. Frankly I wouldnt call sides on exclusives, cos I like some on the PS3 and some on the xbox.
Playstation has some major PITA moments as well with system updates taking forever, and lack of support for common universal remotes bcos of bluetooth, and requiring disc for Netflix and random stuff like that.
But xbox isnt without issues as well, the noise for starters, yes you can copy the games onto HDD to reduce it a bit but its an unnecessary workaround IMO. Then there is RROD which you will see atleast once if you own an xbox, newer ones are supposed to be less prone to it I think. Lack of bluray is a valid point, but a 100$ fix as such.
I guess I'm trying to say its hard to pick sides, really. You cannot just look at the existing game catalogue and decide which way to go cos there are bound to be games on the other camp you wish you can play. If gaming is not the only use case for you though, there are other factors you can compare to pick camps. Which I didnt want to do so I got both :P
