Anyone else feeling Treme yet?

I'm all in after the last episode. I love me some Antoine, who is basically Bunk with a "bone" instead of a cigar. That's fine. I loved Bunk.

I don't have HBO, but I'm looking forward to this one.

It is growing on me. It didn't hook me right away like "True Blood" did, but it is getting there. I am wondering if anymore from "The Wire" will show up on it.

Halfway through this, it looks really good.  I'm interested how much music is in each episode?

^ I don't really understand the question. Every episode has at least one musical interlude. Although, they didn't really cover the New Orleans Indians as close as I would of liked. That was fascinating.

BTW, I thought the first season was great. It's more of a mood piece, which I totally dug. There are many great blogs that discuss the show, with its myriad of references. It's a thick soup to be sure.

Anyone who enjoyed and finished  the show, should head over to Hit Flix, where they interviewed David Simon - heavy spoilers of course.

^ I just meant how much time do they spend showing musical clips in the various clubs/bars?

Is it 5 minutes every episode?

Roughly yes.

I'd definitely keep watching. A couple of the final episodes are heavily music based, although maybe not in a club setting if that is a requirement for you.

No the club setting isnt critical

Thanks!

Still waiting for this dvd to be released in the UK.

Anyone know of any good New Orleans related books they can recommend and have read personally to tide me over until its release?

Heh, god bless you duotone. Why weren't more people into this show! Maybe home video, will convert some more. It was a bit of a mood piece.

Anyway, not a book, but for anyone whom would like to seriously dive into Treme, may I would heartily suggest the documentary: Trouble the Water beforehand.

Thanks, will have a look into that ^

Not sure why its not popular as I havent seen it.  Maybe more people thought it was going to be more like The Wire and after watching the 1st episode when it was nothing like The Wire they just abandoned it?

Ordered the first series on DVD. It's released on 11th April so mid April I wil be able to see what all the fuss is about. Already promised a mate that I have waited months for it so waiting another couple weeks while he finishes his last pieces of college work in his final year is no problem to finally watch it with him while sharing some food & beers in the New Orleans spirit!

Yesterday I discovered that Spotify has the album of the Treme season one soundtrack which I began listening to, which is getting me amped up to watch the series.
