I'm asking $600. Please read the description below.
I just recently got these and have been listening to them for under a week. I love the sound signature a lot. It's what I had hoped from my original 4 driver Mages. A few people here who bought the Mages thought it lacked a little low bass and had agreed that a tad bit of "impact" would be welcome. Well, I feel the Mage 6 is just that. Perfectly balanced and more neutral than anything else in my opinion with just enough bass without overpowering the remaining frequencies.
Comparing the frequency response graphs of the JH13 and Mage 6, they are very similar, though the M6 has more bass. Now... I understand the frequency response graph doesn't illustrate everything, but it should give you a general idea of the monitor's sound signature.
I think I could be completely satisfied with these monitors if it wasn't for needing to get the right one refitted. And this brings me to my reason for selling. Shipping to China at a reasonable speed will cost me $28, and shipping them back to me will be another $45. Cheaper shipping costs will take entirely too long. If I add all the money I've spent for TF10 remolds/refitting, Mage (4 driver) refitting and finally my Mage 6 and refitting, I've spent almost $1,400. I can't help but think, I should have just gotten a JH13 (or JH16, now that it's out).
It's a bit of a headache doing business with a company in China and it takes entirely too long. I am considering selling everything I got to get a JH16. This way, I know there's a good chance I'll have the best available and refits will be completely painless seeing as how Florida is just a few states away from me. I can't imagine what it would be like to spend $2 to ship my monitors into JH for refitting and only have to wait a couple days for them to get there.
Now, I'm not sure I'll go through with this because my Mages 6's really do sound great and in the long run, it may be a more financially responsible move to spend the $80 to get them refitted. That is, UNLESS I can get a decent amount for them. I paid $574 for my original 4 driver Mages and paid another $464 to get them remolded into the 6 driver variation (They only kept the TWFKs and replaced the CIs with 2 different dual element drivers, the models I am not sure of). So, I paid just over $1,000 for them.
If anyone is interested, pm me. I'm not yet ready to sell. I'm just checking to see how much I can get to go towards a pair of JH16s. If I can get what I'm asking, I'll definitely let them go. I will still consider selling if I get some decent offers. If I decide to sell, I will post a new thread with plenty of pictures of everything. If anyone really wants a picture now, just let me know.
