kimber ultraplate,cardas gncm

is there a sound difference between the kimber ultraplate and cardas gncm?
kimber puts the ultraplate on their low price offerings but cardas gives you the gncm. i don't see why they can't give you the slvr. it is only $3.00 more per plug. does it even make a sonic difference? or is it mostly about longevity?

edit: i forgot to say since kimber won't say what type of plating it is i cannot be sure it is even better metal than the gncm. the strange thing is 4 ultraplate are three times the price of the gncm's. yet they manage to put them on the pbj and gq mini cu. so the wire is $5? that's not promising!

thanks,

Neither plugs are great. If you're looking to DIY, I'd go with either Eichmann copper bullets or Furutech FP-126s. I believe Crystal uses the Furutechs on some pretty expensive cables. They are superb for around $45 for a set of 4.

i don't know what can be in the kimber. that it would be their base offering. it comes on the tonik i think. we know whats in the cardas and it aint great. i saw some inflated price on the net for the kimbers. i think these are probably pretty similar. i was not thinking of using them for diy. i was mostly wondering why the kimbers were $60 for four and they put them on a $50 set of cables! i now take it that seller was grossly inflating the price lol. i was just wondering. i had nothing in mind.
