Lake People V181: a new balanced amp <$1000 - Page 9

I too was looking for upgrades to do to my V181 and found this on a review:

"No problem with volume control but I'm a upgrader.. I think it would go better with a step resistance volume control.

This is the link for the one I would change.

I don't know which one.. I hope somebody can help me.

Thank you,

Matteo"

I am not sure of what resistance to order and how well it might fit into the case without significant mods.

I would change the potentiometer.. do you know which impedance I have to looking for?

Changing the POT won't change anything.
If you want something better let's wait for the balanced V200.

I have tried with PS1000 and with the gain at the maximum (+12), the high frequency distorcing, if go to 0 gain the problem goes away..

Anyone have tried to change the gain if the sound go better with less gain?

Thank you,

Matteo

I have the gain in my V200 at +12 and have no problems at all.

high gain is not suitable for low impedance headphones.
