I liked the W1000 a lot with the PS Audio GCHA. Dead quiet, great detail and tight bass.

Sounds like what I'm getting out of my Pb2... it's a shame how much cleaner adn tigher it is in SE non the less than the pb1... but it does have aftermarket OP amps and DUmmy buffers

Still I'm really enjoying my pb2 hm801 portable with my      W1000x! I highly recommend teh hm801 to any w1000x owners :D

How's the fit on your head? Any part of the cups not sealing? This is probably a general question for anyone.

First some specs on my head, average size adult male, I usually take a large size motorcycle helmet if thats any help. My Senn 515's are the most comfortable headphones I've ever tried, thats why I've held on to them for so long, they didn't sound too bad either. Until I got my Modi/Magni stack that is! Too harsh and sharp after a few hours, they became very tireing. SO.... enter the M1000x's, nice, more mellow and musical still with  an upper freq presence.

Now on to the fit and comfort. Just the right size ear hole to top of the head, nice and light, a little loose though, some bending may be required. Jogging with these not recommended! Now the bad news, pressure on the ear lobes...damn!!, not too uncomfortable buts still...damn! The Senn 515 like most Senn's have that nice oval shape that fits niceley!! Why arn't  these oval!

Pull cans low and tilt slightly forward and all is good. Pressure is then off lobes but feel is a little unnatural!

This Is my first impression of course, I do think I will grow to love these cans as they and my ears break in!

Back to the tunes,,,seeya!

I guess that explains that. Looks like I'll probably be dealing with the same fit issues I have with every AT headphone. Medium sized head?

Count me in as a new owner! I had to get rid of an HD650 for the sake of my roommate being bothered by the leakage, so I'm hoping these are a good substitute!

Sad that you had to get rid of your hd650, am a big fan. As far as the w1000x they do pretty well with noise isolation, even cranked. I'm sure w1000x owners here can comment on this too.

PS: you won't be sorry with the purchase of the w1000x.

Happy listening!

Yep I have both cans, miles less leakage on the w1000x and good quality sound. Mine took week or two of burn in before they started to sound their best and to be honest I was not overwhelmed with them straight out of the box so give them a couple of weeks rather than judging on first listen. I don't think you will be disappointed with the sound but they do feel different on the head.

Thanks! Honestly, I thought my ZMF T50RP was too similar to the HD650 (the HD650 was better, but not, "I could have $300 towards a completely different headphone," better) to really justify keeping, so it doesn't make me too sad.
