Its what you can get for the price range, but that doesn't mean its better quality than other players.  I have 5th gen Ipod, Fuze, and S and X series Sony.  Fuze sounds the worst.  What players do you have for comparison?  Most users because its a very affordable player, and for much higher price players there will not be that much people buying because of the price.

Sansa fuze or Creative Zen.  

Not the coolest looking but good value for money.
