For sale is a well used Antique Sound Lab MG Head DT. Bought used on Head-Fi in 2005 as my first tube amp.
Has had the Wing Mod done to remove negative feedback, changed a pair of capacitors to 1uF Auricaps (originally 0.22μf Multicaps), and some insulated aluminum foil to help shield power wires.
The amp is sensitive to power line noise - it hummed when used in a dormitory complex of three 18-story blocks, but is relatively quiet with Senns in a 3-story apartment block (Noise floor is higher when compared to a Woo6).
Slight rustling sound when adjusting the volume pot, but quiet otherwise.
Gold plating on RCA input jacks is worn out, but are perfectly functional.
Other than the abovementioned issues, the amp is functional and delivers the tubey presentation this amp is known for. Low-impedance headphones are not a match with this amp, so be forewarned.
