I was looking over some units on HiFi2000, and they have some nice csae but as you said the shipping would be high for North America.
I believe Teko redistributes the Hifi 2000 Galaxy cases, though they call them Dissipator's.

Don't forget the ever-popular Nabu surplus cases

Some people put a wood front panel on it, or you can design a front panel from any of the front panel design shops.

I'm building an input/output selector, and I'm seriously considering putting it in another digikey box to match my amp (CKKII in digikey box secured with duct tape). Hopefully I will be able to get some plexiglas or something before it comes to that.

Me, as much as I likxe buying cases, I really like thinking about making them. You can design up all sorts of prettifications to beautify your build (like hiding all the wiring in the double walls to trick people)

I recently discovered I could build a case out of .25 inch thick Al(with a plexiglass top) for under $20 (not counting shipping). I planed it all out, and even made the design on paper to make sure it all fit.
