Which one is you: DIY or buy?

Which one of this suit you best?

1) You proud of the things you build by yourself (doesn't have to be expensive or cheap)
2) You proud of buying the state-of-the-art/unique/expensive branded stuff

I'm more to DIY kind of person, even when I have money I'd prefer to mod stuff and tune it to my liking, it doesn't matter if its audio related stuff or other things like building your desktop, car etc. I always finds it fun to mod things, I learn everything by DIY, from building PC, car and of course audio components Other thing is, when I did all this I know that no one have the kind of equipment/mod I use/did in this world

If possible I'm a DIY kinda guy. You can usually get more for your money if you have the ability to assemble it yourself.

I DIY my SSMH last year. I have bought parts for beta22 already but just couldn't find time to build it. I guess, if time permits, I would build stuff myself because that's the only way it is TRULY mine. However if the schedule goes on like this I'll resort to buying whatever's on the market.

I wish I had more time to build projects. DIY is fun and can be challenging.

I like buying assembled diy amp because the price/performance ratio is very good.

I don't DIY or buy. I just picture what I want and the universe gives it to me. So glad I bought that Secret DVD!

I'm very much a DIY person, just not for audio related items.

I will build just about everything else.

I'm a Buy guy, unless you're talking computers because that requires little skill and only a small amount of research.

I do, however, want to eventually figure out how to build my own headphone amp. If I ever want a Stax O2, I'd want to build my own Blue Hawaii or something so I don't go bankrupt

I start out buying and as I learn more take on DIY projects. I love DIY but think it's important to have a frame of reference for products on the market vs. things I can build. I would DIY a cable or amp but dont think I'll be taking on anything much more technical

If it's within reason for me to do, I prefer to DIY.
I am more proud of the things I build than the things I buy in most cases.

I don't know. I'm sure there are some cities or countries where this is a necessary job skill. Not going to point any fingers for fear of a gun being stuck to my head.

I'm proud of what I buy more, because I don't DIY often. I'm also more confident in a professional's ability to properly execute a product because they have better resources and professional experience. While it is a great experience to have built something great, I don't see myself ever having my best rig be DIY.

I'm a buy guy... Not much experience with any tools more advanced than a screwdriver or a hammer and have little to no knowledge of circuitry and so on.

I would love to get into the art of DIY audio but no time and no teacher... except for the internet, but I don't always trust that guy.

Well, I'd love to be a DIY guy if I had the know how ...
