custom iems in industrial workplaces?

Hello everyone,
I have been thinking about getting a custom iem for quite some time now. I know most customs offer -26 db of noise blocking. But I have no idea how loud that actually is. This number has been the seem for years, why doesnt it og up.
In conjunction with this I was wondering, my parents have a big lawnmower and a leave blower, they use earmufs for hearing protection. Would a custom iem give enough noise blocking here. After that I wodnered, how much noise blocking is required in industrial environment where people work with heavy machinery?
Thanks in advance for any information,
Greetings, Anouk,

a normal pair of industrial earplug blocks out about 22 dB so I think your custom iem should block out enough noise but it depends on how loud the machine is. btw, 10 decibel is about 2 times louder (or softer in this case) so your custom iem should soften the noise by 3 times.
