bastogne

After several exchanges of information, I purchased a Scherzo Andante amplifier from "bastogne".   All of my questions were answered and a fair price was agreed upon.  The amplifier arrived very quickly and in perfect condition. It was very well packed for the trip to its new home!  

Based on the happenings since my purchase of the amp, I would not feel comfortable entering into future transactions.  Please see below:

UPDATED 7/28/2010:  

Shortly after purchasing this amplifier from Bastogne, I needed to send it to the builder for some service work.  Upon receipt of the amplifier, the builder notified me that this was a loaner that had been requested as a review sample but not returned.  When I previously asked the seller if he was the original owner, he said that he had "bought it off a guy on Ebay", but never did provide me with any further information. 

The builder stated to me that he had requested the return of the amp but never did receive it back.  He subsequently kept the amp, and now I am without an amplifier.  I do not blame the builder for keeping the amp, as he forwarded correspondence to me that clearly stated that the amp would be returned to him following the published review.

I have also noticed  an interesting co-incidence:   Several additional pieces of equipment listed for sale by Bastogne were also items that had been reviewed during the same approximate time frame as the Andante that I purchased from him.  

Perhaps this update should be considered as "buyer beware" for individuals considering purchasing items from this seller.

Firstly, let me tell you how relieved and grateful I am after buying a Burson HA-160 amp from Bastogne. I was VERY reluctant about buying this amp since Bastogne has little feedback and his posting for the amp was fairly bare. Also the fact that he didn't have a camera to take pictures of the amp made me a little nervous to commit to buying it. However, after messaging him back and forth for a few days I gained confidence and decided it was worth the money. He even went through the hassle of borrowing a camera to take a picture of the amp and providing me proof that he was the original owner through Burson audio. I even sent him payment to the wrong paypal addres by accident which he cleared for me. Well, I received the amp today and appreciate the fact that he kept his word and kept me updated on my purchase.

All I can say is thanks! Recommended seller, very assuring, forgiving and honest

I purchased a Black Cat Veloce coax cable from Bastogne. The cable was shipped quickly and was exactly as described.
