I just read on their web page that the Jazz group, Fourplay, now has Chuck Loeb as its guitarist. He is replacing Larry Carlton, who was with the band for 12 years.

Fourplay is one of my all-time favs, as is Chuck Loeb.

I can't wait for this group to release a CD! Hopefully, the vocals will be handled by Chuck's wife, the ever-so-sexy sounding Carmen Cuesta-Loeb.

I'm kind of excited about this.

Chuck Loeb is a great replacement for Carlton. Fourplay has been making smooth jazz with great upbeat grooves for a lot of years and it doesn't look like that will end anytime soon. Try four80east for more great jazz

Thanks for this. I have most of Chuck Loeb's CD's ( 9+ ??) and maybe 6 Fourplay. This should be very good.

Think they will make perfect harmony ??--I don't have any of Carmen Cuesta-Loeb's music but I've sampled from her website and I agree...sounding sexy.

She's got four CDs out, with only one (One Kiss) being a domestic release. Her "Daydream" CD is one of my all-time favorites, and also one of my test discs.

All of them are well worth getting. If you decide to pick one up, I think the best prices I saw (it's been a while, though) was thru her web site.

Wait a minute...

I just noticed I've got Fourplay on right now. How weird. "Between the Sheets" sounds absolutely fantastic thru a GCHA and D7000. Pure heaven!

Edit:

Harmony? Yes, indeed.

You've heard her voice tons, I'm sure, as any vocal track on Chuck's CDs features her. Vocals on Chuck's CD equals Mrs. Loeb.

Thanks so much for this thread. I have every Fourplay CD there is with exception of the Christmas CD's. I absolutely love the sound from this group. I have not kept up with Chuck Loeb but have heard his stuff and I think he will be a great addition. Larry Carlton was excellent though. I have not heard of Carmen but will go off looking to hear how she sounds.

I still prefer the Lee Rit Fourplay CDs to any of the Larry Carlton ones but I will definitely keep an eye on any new releases with the new guy

My favorite Chuck Loeb stuff is his work with Metro and Mitch Foreman. Great music! They rock!!

Wow didn't know that. I'm a fan of Larry, Lee, Chuch and Fourplay. Fourplay is due for another CD. Any word on why Larry left? Personally, while I love Larry's blue's still, Lee sounded like he fit in the group's sound better. Can't wait to hear Chuck with the group. I do wonder why they keep using guitarists, instead of switching it up to say a saxaphonist.
