I am aware that Fang himself has made one of these but I thought it didn't explain some things too well. I was lost at some point and had to figure it out my self. This is a step by step on how to remove the amplifier module for the HiFiMAN HM-801 for people who need the help or for anyone who just wants to see how it looks, enjoy.

Tools needed: A small Philips head screwdriver which is already supplied with the HiFiMAN HM-801 and a small flat head screw driver.

Step 1: Place the HiFiMAN face down so the "GanQi Bay" is facing you.

Step 2: Unscrew the 2 Philips screws securing the GanQi Bay door in place.

Step 3: Slide the GanQi Bay door away from the HiFiMAN HM-801 to expose the amplifier module.

Step 4: Locate the small flat head screw driver to begin removal of the amplifier module.

Step 5: They're 2 tabs that need to be pressed down to unleash the amplifier module.

Step 6: Use the small flat head screw driver to press down on one tab.

Step 7: Use the small flat head screw driver to press down on the other tab.

Step 8: The amplifier module will pop up when both tabs are pressed.

Step 9: Gently, pull the amplifier module out.

Step 10: You're done!

Close up of the amplifier module.

Close up of the amplifier module.

Clever. I've only seen one other portable audio device with a built-in switch-out board. Cool.
