Head fi should do it since they have all these sponsors imo.
But then I wouldn't be too surprised if the reviews are colored. Like, green?

Yeah.. right. And cigarette companies should fund studies to make sure their products are safe.
Hmm, I could have sworn they have a lot of their money involuntairly or indirectly going to that...maybe it was the taxes?
Basically, you just admitted that head fi and dac makers are not so different from tobacco companies.
Yes it was the taxes. What I mean is your suggestion for us to prove our claims is like a tobacco company being asked to do their own study on the safety of their products. Having taxmoney taken from them and being used by the government is different, although the government does make a lot of money taxing tobacco companies, so you must also be careful with them. Or, in an analogy you might get better, maybe we should just trust politicians to always tell us the truth because we give them taxmoney, maybe take "truth serum" and "lie detector tests" live on tv for our entertainment.
Anyone upgraded their power adapter?
I think one of the weakest link is the power brick - need a real robust one to push the preamp to awesomeness
Sorry, realized that I had replied to a post by MrTrotsky that had already been answered.
Edit: Nevermind about first thought.
In other news, just ordered my Audinst. Anyone know how long it takes to ship to conus?
asio4all works fine for me. I had a weird bug when I first got it, where it was playing everything super slow the first time, and I changed USB ports and that fixed everything.
considering getting one of these.
anyone used it with woodied grado sr225s or MTPC
cheers
Only if every conductor in the power supply is made out of SOLID GOLD! Because clearly it taints the transmission of electrons less.
P.S. rmaa of power supply too please.
So I'm guessing this is one of the best if not the best dac/amp at this price range for a portable dac/amp powered by usb since most of my listening will be done on the go for this? I'm very close in pulling the trigger on these to replace my uDAC.
Possibly, but there are others in this price range that are not very known to head-fi. The audinst is probably the easiest to get and you get what you pay for in a nice little dac/amp combo.
Need to change the opamp.
LME48960 doesn't do it justice.
I'd swap it to something more dynamic - say 2227/2107.
Well I'm as good as sold on these. I committed to selling my uDAC so these will have to do as my next audio purchase. I think I'll try the OPA627 since they are highly regarded after trying stock.
