Well, firstly, female doesn't have a 'plug'. Only male has a 'plug'. You need a female jack.
And, what's the exact color of female do you need? Firstly you said white and then 'various colors'.

white female jack for a regular headphone 1/8th plug. white is one I want but I am also interested in other colors like red or blue. but anyways I am not looking for anything high end. in fact low end would be just fine. all that matters is the color of the jack. I want it to match the color of a gameboy I am getting modified.

Markertek is good for cabling, plugs, and jacks.
I haven't seen 3.5mm colored jacks, but RCA's are often colored:
TecNec Cables & Connectors TecNec RE-PFCM Plastic Recessed Panel Mount RCA Female to Solder Point Connectors D Series RCA Connectors at Markertek.com
Closest in 3.5mm is probably this switchcraft in silver or black:
Switchcraft Corporation Switchcraft EH35MMSSC & EH35MMSSCB 3.5mm Stereo Solder Contact Panel Connectors 3.5, 2.5mm Mini Connectors at Markertek.com
Edit: Just saw your post on gameboy/cheap. Probably looking at one of the smaller chassis mount jacks and some hobby paint :P
