on another thread I stated I use my father-in-law's 1942 Army issued "bag" as a manbag. can't describe what it actually was used for other than a shoulder-type bag, rather small and can carry legal-size yellow=style notepad, iPod and amp, various pens in a side pocket and cell-phone and related junk in a back pouch. Quite cool and has stenciled in it the serials for Army MedCorp. Also have his original North African pith helmet in excellent condition and appears to be unused. Wear it gardening; might look rather silly but it is quite sun-resistant. Also his Sheaffer Triumph fountain pen which Ihad restored to original condition.
While not a miitary buff by any means--altho don't disapprove of the concepts--it's sorta fun having these nostalgia bits to use in perfect condition given they're about 60 yrs old and still work well
