100% functional and sound great. These have the frayed rubber protectors that is common with these (see image). This affects nothing and is cosmetic only. I am not using these much anymore so I am selling. They come with the medium gels, nothing else. You can probably use shrink wrap on them but not necessary IMO. These have full, but balanced sound with great detail, not harsh at all. You are not going to find better sound (and comfort) under $100 new or used.
