With your current rig I couldn't agree more.

funny when you have no idea how my rig sounds.

I saw an AudioZone Amp-1 and K1000 on the for sale side before. A long time ago I tried to diy a gain clone and use lead acid battery's. If I do get a K1000 one day I will buy some kind of gain clone just because it is so portable. Stuble just seems to be an instigator. $1400 headphones and a $1700 amp built with top quality parts isn't good enough? Maybe he is just trolling.

I think hes hating on my beresford dac, i'll admit the beresford does have a boring laid back sound, but I would think he would enjoy the beresford since he's a sennheiser fan after all.

I've been waiting on the BHSE for what seems like years, but actually it's only a year and 10 months . Without the amp for the package, the O2mk1 isn't quite the bride, it's still the bridesmaid. The 007T and exstata's can't push the O2 quite to beat the HD800 for me. There is definitely the potential in the sound but O2 can't quite make it. Hopefully sometime soon the amp god will smile on me.

What would be an interesting perspective for the 'stat verses dynamic threads would be opinions of someone(s) who came into the question from the opposite direction. i.e. who had spent lots of time on 'stats but was totally inexperienced in dynamics. Get their take on a top drawer dynamic or two. 'Stats definitely wow someone coming from any dynamic by virtue of what they do different, but I'm not convinced it's absolutely better. Perhaps just better as a contrast to the familiar, which for 99% is dynamics.

I am one that had a top end stax rig for years and came back to dynamics...

There is most of the time something lacking in the "musicality" department...

I am very happy with a top end dynamic system at the moment...

Where electrostats very easally impress is detail...But that is something top end dynamics now can do as well...

Some people have hangups about buying used or old gear, but the fact that there is so much vintage Stax gear out there for sale speaks to how reliable (and fantastic) it is. I did (and would again) just try a piece of vintage gear, as it doesn't cost nearly as much and provides truly outstanding performance.
I have just seen a SRM1 MKII ending at around $500 on eBay. Those vintage STAX prices are getting higher.

Does anyone know what the SRM1 MKII, Lamda Pro and Signature would have cost back in the day? Anyone have an old price list link? I bought a Lambda Sig and SRM1 MKII the original owner say it was $3500cdn
