My CK²-III front panel was done with Laser Printable Bake-On Water Slide Decal Media. This stuff holds up quite well after baking it on. It still looks the same, no wear or tear, after about a year of daily use.
This is what it looks like under normal subdued lighting.
This picture accentuates the decal as much as possible.
