CD and Bluray recommendation

Thread Starter
Hi everyone, I'm thinking to get a Bluray player for home movie entertainment, while I think maybe I can get a Bluray player with good CD playback SQ.

Is there any recommendation?

Thanks.

I 2nd the Oppo, in both stock and SE forms. Stock is good, SE is better if you are really into 2 channel listening. The Pioneer Elite line has also really impressed me, and many are available on Audiogon for excellent prices.

I will "3rd" the Oppo BDP-83SE,
but I went with the far more extensive
modifications by Dan Wright of Modwright
(these go well beyond the "NuForce Edition" !!!),
with Modwright analog power supply and
Modwright FET-based analog output stage.
As I reserved my modification date in December,
my unit also has the Burson master clock upgrade
(which is no longer offered on the SE version)

See http://www.modwright.com/modifications/14
for the modification options offered and

http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php...=77051.new#new
for photos and feedback.

The Modwright Oppo BDP-83SE provides significantly more musical detail (and "musically"!)than my Matt Anker/sacdmods custom modded
Dual ZapFilter Denon DVD-3930CI.

If you're on a budget, the Pioneer BDP-320 is supposed to have nice analog sound. Can be had for about $120.
