Sennheiser CX55 on dealextreme

I've seen these on sale over at DX. According to this they look like the real deal - small gap in the 'phones, proper packaging, no cable-wrap doodad.
Would you say they are original? I'm always in need of cheap canalphones to give to unenlightened friends who use those awful earbuds, but the prices of the usual ones (CX300 etc) are too high, I can't afford to give them away. But $12 would be great.

Also, how are they compared to old-model CX300s (my current earphones)?

The plug on the real one according to the thread you posted is gold plated. If you look at the pictures on deal extreme they are not gold plated.

Also on the dealextreme picture the lower end of the earphone where the cable is entering is a bit angled.

And I find the cable clip a bit low quality. You can see on the part where the cable is inserted that there still is a bit of plastic left.

u can zoom if you go to the gallery, these are 12mp pictures so you should be able to get all the detail you need out of them, :)

 

NOTE: some people appear to be getting fakes, but Some like myself have gotten what by all appearances are legit/genuine products, so its kinda a crapshoot, one guy got 2 sets one fake one legit in same shipment.

I love dealextreme (cheap lasers, flashlights, screen protectors,batteries...), but find me 10 genuine products from their site!? The whole point of dealextreme is cheap but risky products, and why would they bother sell the original if they have the almost "original". Just don't be hopeful about this phones dude, there are fake monster turbines and many other $5 clone headphones in the site, why these should be genuine? But try "True 50mw Green Laser" instead :P

you just missed the sale on Meelec M2P for $8.99 with free shipping, but now it's back to $18. If you can wait, they have stuff on sale quit often.
