I won't vote because I don't know enough of these guys. But last night I listened to Brubeck's "Jazz at Oberlin" and it was absolutely fantastic.

It was very hard not to vote for Tyner, but I had to go with Brubeck. I love both (and many of the others on this list).

My favorite *modern* living jazz pianist is Patricia Barber.
