2 speaker , 1 input , swap box

according to some audiophile , speaker selector box is not very good

so I decided to make a swap box

any feedback for the following setup?

the +ve(red) inputs will be swap manually.
the -ve(blue) inputs will be remain permanently

I have 1 amp, I want to switch between k1k and speaker

so amp will lead out a speaker cable to the +ve input, there are 2 sets

for -ve input is 1 set, so speaker and k1k will share a common -ve input

arrows are internal wiring

You should switch ground as well as signal without exception in a speaker/amp switcher. If you ever get a balanced power amp tying the grounds together like this can destroy the amp.

why is this so?

at one time I am only using 1 speaker, eg.

I connect the speaker, the k1k will connected will only have -ve connected

one reason is to keep the cost down to save 2 terminal.. trying to get audio note speaker terminal

It looks like you have 2 amplifiers connected. If you have only one amp connected you do not have to switch ground/-, although it is still wise to keep left and right ground/- separate.

uhmm no 1 input = 1 amp

the +ve inputs is 1 pair of speaker cable plug in manually 1 set at a time

those arrows in the diagram is internal wiring

eg. I want to use speaker

I plug it into the +ve speaker side, the k1k +ve side will be left unconnected, only -ve is a common across this 2 speaker

If you want to reconsider the DIY route, Bryston does make an excellent speaker selector. It ain't cheap, but it does not audibly degrade the signal in my direct experience...at least to my ears. I have a very revealing system and am pretty picky. I believe they make two versions and they are available via either Music Direct or AudioAdvisor. Rarely they come up on the used market. The only criticism I'd have of them are that the terminals for the input and speaker connections are spaced too close together, especially for large spade connectors. You can get around it, but it can be a bit of a PITA.

uhmm I think the bottleneck is the selector switch and at $400 I can have a full diy all in silver with $100 to spare

Hey, just offering it up as an option. I did find one used for $200 but that's pretty rare, as I said. For me my time is far more valuable.
