it's about two weeks that i've bought them and i'm quiet satisfied with it ... first i wanted to buy the J3 but it's 3.3 AMOLED screen and good video playing was not needed!! it's low 16GB...

YESSSSSSSSSS! i've finally finished my first interconnect, i'm pretty happy with the results, considering it's the first time i've ever done something like this. believe me though, it was hard road to get to what you see above you and think i hate soldering; i just need more practice:)

i went through 2 jacks last night. but think i came up with the near perfect to solder these damn jacks. what i did was i stripped off a tiny bit of the coats of the wires, just enough so that i can string it through those holes and make itsy bitsy hooks as suggested. i kept having trouble with the wires touching so this the best i could think of (i tried using electrical tape but working in such a confined space made me crazy). another thing i found was that when soldering the ground, when i did it on the outside of the connect--where the wire is strung through--it made it hard to get the metallic case to pass over because it's damn small. so when i dot he same for the headphones, i'm going to solder on the inside; does that sound like a good idea?

anyway, third time is the charm i guess. i think i did pretty good.

i also miss measured and the case for the jack didn't cover all of the exposed inners of the cable, so as you can see in the first picture, i added some heat shrink to tidy it up.
i hope this made sense.. sort of in a hurry but i wanted to get this up here so you guys can check it out.
what do you think??

Don't forget to use the clamp there at the end of the plug; It's the primary means of stress relief (after maybe heatshrink). Another thing to do would be to hotglue the heck out of the plug to make sure the wires don't get pulled loose
. It may not be pretty, but once you get the barrel over it, nobody can tell the difference anyhow.
i actually didnt know that that weird puzzle piece/clamp part was meant for anything. but i did use it cause it made it easier to screw the enclosure over and it only made sense because the jagged edges, again, fit together like a puzzle piece; that's good to know, thanks. unfortunately, i did not use any heatshrink over the solder area. however, i should mention, the holes i made, in order to fit the cable through, are so snug that it actually takes some force push the cable through; i cannot even begin to tell you how nerve wrecking it was put it together.
so, still have the rest of the headphones to do. i'll try to get it done to night.
off topic: my earlier post said i edited it @ 4:11pm, that's weird, i did make some changes but that was like a split second after i posted...

Interesting
Looking forward to future updates
I was thinking of doing something like this, except I wanted to modify the headphones so that the cable comes out from one side instead of having a cable from each side
done! it's been done for a couple weeks actually; i've been really busy but here it is, in all it's glory :P
i think it came out pretty good. i had to re-solder everything cause the wires were too lose. so i took it all apart, put it back together but this time using the clamps more (clamping down hard) and using glue. sometimes the sound in the right phone will cut in and out but that's only when i've got the cable twisted, other than that, it's works perfectly. i might redo everything in the future when i get better at soldering, right now, i'm pretty satisfied with the way it came out.
thanks to everyone who helped.
