How old are you?

Nothing complicated... just wanting to get an idea on the demographics of Head-Fi. How do you feel about your place in time?

I'm 60 and I think it's great. Old enough to know everything, with no intention of proving it.

Well, I see the poll has been pushed to the side of the highway... The Members Lounge? I'm not even old enough to go there. Its all smokey and smells like mildewed leather. Uh oh... I think I'm having an asthma attack!

Oops. If you've already answered this before, OR you answered no to my "Do you respond to polls" poll consider yourself disqualified UNLESS you have changed your status or show a fake ID and lie.

The way the choices are defined this is slanted toward the youth end of the spectrum. I expect there are members over 70 here, yet the poll stops at 50> and leaves the upper reaches undefined and improperly represented.

I say this because my dad, who is 84, turned me on to High Fidelity, Stereo, and Headphones in the 1960's. My uncle awed me with his Heathkit and Dynaco builds and speakers (component audio as compared to my dad's all-in-one, which better matched the living room furnishings).
My brother-in-law and some guys I knew in high school (also in the 1960's) were electronic tech's and into building equipment and speakers. Of course there were also walk-in electronics stores that sold parts, kits, and ready-to-use equipment which no longer seem to exist.

My dad still listens to opera and I think my uncle still has his Dynaco.

This stuff's been around a long time, at least as long as audiophiles, tech's and geeks

I'll be 58 May 2 and feeling great. Got into audio back in 1969 when I built my first DynaKit ST70 amp, and PAS3X pre-amp.
